Police want to talk to this man over ‘racially-aggravated comments’ about three-year-old girl

POLICE want to talk to this man about an incident in which “racially-aggravated comments” were made to a mum and her three-year-old child in Yate Shopping Centre

Avon & Somerset police say the incident happened in East Walk between 11.30am and midday on September 29, and was reported to police five days later.

Today police issued CCTV pictures of the man as they appealed for information about his identity.

A spokesperson said: “A man approached a mother as she walked through Yate Shopping Centre with her three-year-old child.

“He made a number of racially-aggravated comments while gesturing towards the child, who is of dual heritage. The mother told him to stop, and walked away.

“Officers have been making a number of enquiries and are now keen to trace the man in these images, who may be able to help the investigation.”

The man is described as white, in his 60s and about 5ft 8in tall, with very short or balding hair.
