Motorcyclist dies after tractor collision near Chipping Sodbury

A MAN has died after the motorbike he was riding collided with a tractor near Chipping Sodbury.

Police say the man, who was in his 60s, was riding a white Lexmoto motorbike that was involved in a collision with a tractor exiting a turning on Dodington Lane, south of the town, at about 5.10pm on August 7.

He was taken to hospital with “significant injuries” and died six days later, last Thursday.

A police spokesperson said: “His family are being supported by a specially-trained officer and our thoughts are with them.

Appeal for witnesses

“The tractor driver remained at the scene and assisted officers with their enquiries.”

Police believe the motorcyclist was riding from the direction of the Claypit Hill junction.

They have appealed to any witnesses or motorists who were in the area at the time, and believe they may have relevant dashcam footage, to contact them online or on 101, quoting reference number 5226 222 213.
