SYNTH-pop legends The Human League and Marc Almond have been added to the bill for Chipping Sodbury’s Good Times festival next year.
Best known for their global smash hit Don’t You Want Me, The Human League will headline the first night of next year’s Good Times Live festival on May 20 at the Ridings.
Joining them on the bill for the opening night is Marc Almond, who as one half of Soft Cell recorded another of the 80s’ biggest hits, Tainted Love.
Festival director James Murden said: “The Human League are legends of synth-pop, Marc Almond is unforgettable, and we have a special DJ announcement to follow, so Wednesday night is shaping up to be an epic start to our festival here in ‘little old’ Chipping Sodbury.”
Production manager Tom Campbell said: “This is pure 80s magic in the heart of the South West – a night for all fans of the 80s, whether you lived through them or just enjoy the vibe of the times.”
Tonight’s announcement follows last month’s news that another of the 80s’ biggest names, Madness, will headline Good Times Live on May 23, the Saturday of the Spring Bank Holiday weekend.
Other headliners include singer-songwriter Emeli Sande and Russell Howard, who headlines the comedy gala closing the festival on the bank holiday Monday.
